FairfaxNews today introduced a Sponsored Content program that makes it easy and affordable for local business, professional and non-profit organizations to publicize store openings, product roll-outs, public affairs initiatives and executive appointments.
“We have always tried to make room for worthwhile news releases but the reality is that breaking news takes precedence and too often crowds out material that is valuable but that we just don’t have the time or staff to handle,” said James R. Hood, editor and publisher of the regional news site, now in its 28th year of operation.
The Sponsored Content program is self-service. Clients simply fill out a short form, upload their story, photo and payment information. Stories will appear as soon as they are reviewed and approved. All submissions will be reviewed for suitability. Approval is at FairfaxNews’ sole option.
The Sponsored Content program supplements free event listings already offered by the FairfaxNews Events Guide, which displays hundreds of events in the Northern Virginia/DC area. Listings are free. Sponsored listings are available for those seeking higher visibility. Submission forms are available here.
All Sponsored Content stories will carry a red tag and will be listed in their own sections on the home page and other pages throughout the site.
