Coordinates a comprehensive repair and preventative maintenance program for emergency and non-emergency vehicles; ensures operational readiness over an assigned pool of specialized fire apparatus; ensures that reserve inventory levels support mission delivery. Conducts quality control inspections of repair work performed by internal partners and/or external vendors or manufacturers. Conducts vehicle checks in accordance with DOT guidelines and departmental policy. Documents deficiencies in accordance with policy using appropriate and professional terminology and computer programs. Coordinates and corresponds both internally and externally to facilitate repairs. Responsible for maintaining records and data necessary to analyze repair needs for vehicle replacement or reassignment. Coordinates the movement and transport of vehicles between facilities and vendors. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports for maintenance data and safety inspections. Coordinates and verifies warranty claims with internal partners and staff and external staff. Analyzes, dispatches, and coordinates customer complaints to determine appropriate resolution.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
Note: This position is designated asu00a0emergency service personnel for purposes of continuity of operations and may be required to respond during in the event of a man made or natural emergency, even when the county government is closed, and to perform the duties as a VMC. Position is subject tou00a0on-call rotation and overtime is required. Flex schedule may be available.
