Works as part of the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP). Provides critical support to OEP and the overall preparedness, response and recovery efforts of the Health Department through various responsibilities including grant and contract management, emergency plan development, production, implementation, and evaluation, communications and logistics management, training and exercise development and conduct, and general project management. Coordinates all emergency preparedness-related grant activities, including grant opportunity identification, preparation and submission of applications, project management plans, and other grant-related documentation, oversight, reporting, and budget development and management. Serves on the OEP planning team and will be responsible for all aspects of planning for multiple emergency plans, including development, review, revision, implementation, evaluation, and operationalization of plans and supporting documents. Serves as a training instructor and supports the development and delivery of trainings, exercises, and other emergency preparedness-related activities. Manages all emergency preparedness and response-related IT systems and serves as a project manager on a wide variety of preparedness-related projects, activities and services, coordinating all aspects of project development, timeline, budget, milestones, execution, and evaluation. Supports the Health Department's Incident Management Team (IMT), serves on an on-call roster, and is expected to fulfill key roles during emergency responses.

NOTE:
This is an essential position. As an essential member of an emergency response organization, during an emergency activation, employee may be required to work irregular hours, work at a location other than the official duty station, support the department on a 24/7 basis and perform duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Required to work nights, weekends and be available for emergency activations.
