Bring the family to Riverbend Park on Saturday, April 15, 2017 , for the annual festival saluting Virginia’s beautiful native bluebells.

There will be face painting, live animals, a moon bounce, music and walks to see the bluebells and other wildflowers that carpet the forest at Riverbend. Enjoy a stroll with the family to see these signs of spring’s awakening – and don’t forget your camera.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $7 per person. Children age two and under are admitted free.

Bloodroots

Get a sneak peek at the bluebells, bloodroots and other spring ephemerals on nature walks at nearby Scott’s Run Nature Preserve on Tuesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 13. Learn to identify these wildflowers and discover the folklore that has grown up around them. The walks from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. cost $8 per person. They will be canceled in the event of rain.
