This is a news release from the Town of Vienna published verbatim.

The Town of Vienna’s 73rd annual Halloween Parade marches down Maple Avenue at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 23. Groups and organizations who wish to have a float or to perform in the parade must submit registration paperwork by Friday, September 20.

The 2019 Halloween Parade theme is “Famous Children’s Books and Fairy Tales Brought to Life.” To apply as a parade entrant, submit a completed registration form, narrative, waiver, and float policy form (if entering a float into competition) with a detailed sketch and description. Forms and additional information are available at viennava.gov/halloween.

Please note that submittal of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the parade; acceptance is based on entertainment value, variety, and adherence to theme and guidelines.

Parade entry awards are presented in the following categories, based on creativity and theme interpretation: youth band, float with music, float without music, youth performers, adult performers, and antique vehicles.

Costumed children and parents not affiliated with community organizations need not register to march in the parade. Just show up on foot by 6:30 p.m. at the parade’s starting point at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Branch Road.

The 73rd annual Halloween Parade is presented by the Town of Vienna and Vienna Business Association.
