Reckless Handling of a Firearm *ARREST – On September 10, officers concluded an investigation into the shooting that was reported to have occurred at an apartment located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr. in Dumfries (22191) on August 30 at 2:00PM. The investigation revealed that the accused fired a shot that went through the floor into the apartment below. The accused was visiting the apartment and fled the scene prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Nicholas TAYMAN, was arrested.

  • Shooting into a Dwelling [Previously Released] – On August 30 at 7:17PM, officers responded to the Orchard Landing Apartments located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a destruction or property. The residents of an apartment reported to police that sometime between 2:00PM and 2:30PM, a bullet entered the residence and became lodged in the kitchen counter. The residents were not home at the time of the incident. No injuries or other property damage were reported.
