House Fire in Fairfax Station Displaces Two

Two people have been displaced after a fire broke out in their Fairfax Station home about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Units from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and the City of Fairfax Fire Department were dispatched to the fire in the 11100 block of Flora Lee Drive in the Fairfax Station area of Fairfax County.

Units arrived on the scene of a two-story, single family home to find smoke showing from the front of the home. Crews quickly located and extinguished a fire on the first floor. There were no reported firefighter injuries. One adult male occupant was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

One occupant was home at the time of the fire. The fire was discovered by the occupant who alerted a neighbor to call 9-1-1. There were smoke alarms present but it is unknown if they sounded.

Fire Investigators determined that the fire started on the first floor. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Two occupants were displaced due to the fire. Red Cross assistance was offered and accepted. Damages as a result of the fire were approximately $93,750.
