Visitors Trapped in Kennedy Center Elevator

Two adults and a child were trapped in a Kennedy Center elevator Sunday. DC Fire and Rescue workers extricated them and reported that all three “are in excellent condition and had quite an adventure being hauled to safety.”

The elevator was stalled about 30 feet below the Terrace Level. Firefighters rappelled down and brought the stranded passengers out one by one. No one was injured. The three were visiting Washington, firefighters said.
