Maryland State Police are handling an injury collision on southbound Interstate 95 at MD-212 (exit 29).
The initial investigation has revealed a tractor-trailer came to a stop in the roadway. A box truck traveling in the same lane collided into the rear of the tractor-trailer.
The operator of the box truck has been flown to the University of Maryland–Shock Trauma for serious injuries by MSP Aviation Medivac. Troopers from the College Park Barrack, Commerical Vehicle Enforcement Division, and CRASH Team have responded to the collision.
The accident closed three lanes of I-95. At last word, traffic was getting by using the right lane and right shoulder of the interstate. State Police said the lanes will remain closed as the investigation is being conducted and there is no estimated time for reopening.
