Several suspects were arrested on Saturday night by units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a large disturbance involving a weapon.

On June 8, 2019, at approximately 10:10 p.m., units responded to a reported disturbance with a weapon in the area of Lawhorn Road. The Sheriff’s Office received several calls regarding a physical altercation that occurred at a party. There were also reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, First Sergeant Purcell observed a large gathering in the yard of a residence. Multiple subjects were restraining a subject identified as Jonathan Lopez Montufar, 28, of Stafford. He was taken into custody for drunk in public and incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.

The first sergeant also learned that an unidentified male subject began waving a firearm around during the disturbance and fired several shots into the air before leaving the scene. The drone and K9 units responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect. A witness informed the deputies that the firearm had been stolen from a vehicle parked in the area. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the theft of the firearm.

In the meantime, Sergeant Aubry observed a female subject being uncooperative with deputies. The sergeant asked her if she had any knowledge of what happened during the incident, and she continued to be combative. She appeared to be extremely intoxicated and the sergeant detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her person. She also refused to identify herself.

Sergeant Aubry took the female subject into custody, and she resisted arrested. Additional units, including Deputy Gabrielli and First Sergeant Purcell, assisted in placing the subject in the back of the cruiser. The subject continued to resist and repeatedly kicked the sergeant.

The sergeant was eventually able to identify the subject as Chancellor Trentley, 20, of Stafford. She was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, possession of alcohol by a minor, and drunk in public.
