Two Killed in Beltway Motorcycle Accident

UPDATE 10:30 p.m.  Virginia State Police have identified the victims of the motorcycle accident as  Terry T. Jenkins, 62, and his passenger, Sara E. Jenkins, 37, both of Loudoun County.

Two motorcyclists were killed today on an approach ramp to the Beltway. Virginia State Police said the victims had not been participating in the Rolling Thunder ride.

The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. as a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was coming through a curve in the ramp from northbound George Washington Parkway towards southbound Interstate 495 when its operator lost control. Both the adult male rider and his adult female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle. Both died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

State police are still in the process of notifying the individuals’ next of kin.
