News release from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue
This week, May 19 – 25, is the 45th annual National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week! All firefighters in the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department are EMS providers. Personnel possess certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at the minimum. As well, several hundred more have certification as a Paramedic.
This year, five days of EMS Week have a theme.
- Monday – EMS Education Day
- Tuesday – Safety Tuesday
- Wednesday – EMS for Children Day
- Thursday – Stop the Bleed Day
- Friday – EMS Recognition Day
