Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, April 15, 2019, in the 2400 block of Pomeroy Road, Southeast.
At approximately 8:43 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the sound of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and found the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene until being transported to Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 31 year-old Antwan Hucks, of Oxon Hill, MD.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
