It is Week Five of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department’s “Spring Into Safety” campaign. The theme this week is about utilizing the 9-1-1 system to report an emergency.

Did you know that you can text 9-1-1 to report an emergency? As of September 22, 2015,
the Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (Fairfax County 9-1-1) began utilizing technology to allow receipt of text messages to request emergency help.
