Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in the 600 block of Girard Street, Northeast.
At approximately 6:58 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by responding officers. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
On Saturday, April 20, 2019, 27-year-old Antonio Marcell Church, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
