Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in the 4000 block of Benning Road, Northeast.
At approximately 12:12 am, the suspect approached the victim, while the victim was seated in their vehicle, at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and fired shots, striking the vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene.
The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating 26 year-old Demetres Lawton, Southeast, DC. Lawton is currently wanted on DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun). Lawton can be seen in the photo below and should be considered armed and dangerous:
