A Manassas woman, Gloria L. Felder, 46, died Wednesday when her car collided with a tow truck on Route 29 in Culpeper County.

Virginia State Police Trooper I.R. Ewing said the accident happened about 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 29 and 674.

A tow truck driven by Nathan J. Williams, 19, of Culpeper, had pulled into the crossover from Route 674 to make a left turn to head south on Route 29. As it pulled into the median, the rear of the wrecker remained partially in the northbound travel lane and was struck from behind by Felder’s northbound 2010 Nissan Maxima.

The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to cross through the median and then over both southbound lanes of traffic before coming to rest.

Williams was not injured. Felder died at the scene. Williams was charged with failure to yield right of way.
