STRONG ARM ROBBERY: Janna Lee Avenue/Tamarind Street, 1/18/19, 4:30 p.m. The victim was approached by a man who displayed a weapon and demanded money. The victim didn’t move so the suspect searched the victim’s pockets. When the suspect discovered an empty wallet, he walked away. The suspect is described as a light-skinned man wearing a full-face mask and a red-hooded sweatshirt.
STRONG ARM ROBBERY: 8000 block of Fordson Road, 1/18/19, 6:19 p.m. The victim was standing outside his house talking with someone when a man came up from behind him and put a gun to his back, demanding money. When the victim said he didn’t have any money, the suspect shot a round near the victim’s foot. The suspect ran away. The suspect is described as a black man, wearing a red coat, jeans and a black ski mask.
ROBBERY: 4300 block of Pembrook Village Drive, 01/19/19, 10:05 p.m. A pizza delivery driver was delivering food to a house. The homeowner denied ordering pizza and when the driver was walking back to his car a man brandished a handgun and announced a robbery. The suspect took the pizza, cash and a cellphone from the victim. The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old black man, 6’, 175 pounds, wearing black clothing and a monkey mask.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5638 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway (7-Eleven), 1/20/19, 3 a.m. A man entered the store and displayed a knife to the employee. The suspect took cash and cigarettes and left in a red, older model pickup truck. No one was injured. The suspect was described as white, in his twenties, approximately 6’, 165 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, green pants and tan boots.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: 6100 block of Edgewood Terrace, 1/20/19, 9:00 a.m. Someone entered the residence and took jewelry.

BURGLARY OF AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 3300 Patrick Henry Drive, 1/19/19, 11:55 p.m. The homeowner heard someone coming up the basement steps and went to investigate. When they opened the door, a man began to fight the homeowner. The homeowner was able to push the man out of the front door. The suspect was seen leaving the area in a white Jeep. The suspect was described as a black man in his early 20’s, about 5’ 7”, 215 pounds.
BIAS INCIDENT: 3300 block of Cannongate Road, 01/19/19, 7:11 p.m. A citizen reported their family member found a mask near the entrance to his apartment building which contained a piece of paper with a racial slur written on it. The area was canvassed by police and no one had seen who may have left the mask.

PURSUIT: Leesburg Pike/Trotting Horse Lane, 01/19/19, 12:43 a.m. An officer stopped a 2018 Toyota Rav4 after it was seen driving off the shoulder on westbound Leesburg Pike. When the officer got out of his car, the driver sped away. The officer pursued the car until the driver suddenly stopped near the 9500 block of Brian Jac Lane and ran into the woods. After an extended search, the driver was not found. Officers are following up on leads to identify the driver.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: 9700 block of Middleton Ridge Road, 1/18/19, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:20 p.m. Someone broke in and ransacked the house. Cash and other items were reported missing.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7029 Brookfield Plaza (7-Eleven), 01/19/19, 3:20 a.m. Two men walked into the 7-Eleven; one walked behind the counter and filled a garbage bag with cigarettes, while the other grabbed the lower part of the register. Both ran from the store towards Backlick Road. The first suspect was a black man, 20 to 30-years-old, 5’9”, wearing a baseball hat, black jacket and black/grey sweatpants. The second suspect was a black man, 20 to 30-years-old, 6’, wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The suspects took cash and left the store. No one was injured. The suspects were described as black men, 18 to 20 years old, approximately 6’, 175 pounds, wearing black clothing.
