Springfield man sought in Prince William assault

Prince William County Police are seeking a Springfield man on assault charges.

Police said that at 1:24 a.m. today, the received a report of an assault in the Triangle area. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, said she was a passenger in a car being driven by Jevante Malcom Garner when they began to argue.

As Garner was driving, he punched the victim in the face several times causing serious injuries before eventually pulling over and fleeing the area on foot, the victim said. She drove herself to a local hospital for treatment where the police were contacted.

Police obtained a warrant for Garner but have been unable to locate him. His residence is listed as the 8000 block of Powderbrook Lane in Springfield. Garner is described as a black male, 6’06”, 240 pounds, bald with brown eyes.

He faces charges of abduction and malicious wounding.
