Montgomery County ambulance worker charged with sexual offense, assault

A Montgomery County Fire & Rescue has been charged with assaulting a patient in an ambulance. Detectives charged Mario Arturo Obando-Rodriguez, 33, of the 7400 block of Brenish Drive in Gaithersburg, with three counts of a 4th Degree Sexual Offense and one count of 2nd Degree Assault, as the result of an incident that occurred on July 3.

Police said Obando-Rodriguez was providing medical treatment to a woman as a county ambulance headed for a local hospital. He allegedly thouched the woman inappropriately and then gave his phone number to the victim.

Obando-Rodriguez has been with the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services since 2013.  At the time of the incident, Obando-Rodriguez was stationed at Fire Station 8 located in Gaithersburg.
