The Town of Vienna, Historic Vienna, Inc., and Church Street merchants are ringing in the holiday season with the 22nd annual Church Street Holiday Stroll from 6-9 p.m. Monday, November 26.
Santa will glide in atop a 1946 historic fire truck at 6:15 p.m., then help Mayor Laurie DiRocco light the holiday tree at 6:20. Following the lighting, St. Nick will greet children from the porch of the Freeman Store and Museum.
Local groups, including elementary school choruses, local bands, and a capella groups, will perform along Church Street throughout the evening. Guests are welcome to partake in marshmallow-roasting stations along the route. A petting zoo will be located on the Freeman Store lawn.
Several historic structures will remain open throughout the evening, including the Freeman Store and Museum, Little Library, W&OD caboose and train station, Knights of Columbus (formerly First Baptist Church), and Vienna Presbyterian’s Old Chapel.
Many merchants along Church Street will remain open as well, and several will offer warm beverages and/or shopping specials.
