Pedestrian killed in Centreville

UPDATE 11/27 3:20 p.m. Fairfax County Police have identified the pedestrian killed at Westfields Boulevard and Sully Station Drive in Centreville Monday night as Rainer Montero Castillo, 33, of Chantilly.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit said Montero was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a Nissan Murano traling northbound on Westfields. There is no marked crosswalk at that intersection.

Montero Castillo was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors. At this point, no charges are expected.
