UPDATE (11/13 11:30 AM): The victim of the fatal single-vehicle crash has been identified as 48-year old James Stephens.

Fairfax County detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate a fatal single-vehicle crash yesterday morning.

Officers responded to the 10000 block of Ox Road in Lorton for a crash involving a car that hit a concrete barrier. The driver of a 2016 Nissan Versa was travelling southbound on Ox Road, ran off the road on the right side, and hit the barrier.

The driver was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor; however, detectives are still working to determine if speed was a factor. The driver’s name is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0553.
