News release from the Fairfax County Police Department

A former licensed practical nurse contractor who worked at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, which is operated by the Sheriff’s Office, is facing a sexual battery charge. Christopher Chimera, 39, of Lake Ridge, was charged with one count of sexual battery  for inappropriate contact with a female inmate in December 2017 at the Adult Detention Center.

The Fairfax County Police Major Crimes Bureau was contacted by the victim on October 18th, 2018.  Following a thorough investigation police obtained a warrant this morning for Chimera and he turned himself in. Chimera was recently employed by the Fairfax County Community Services Board (CSB) as a nurse, from July until November.

CSB placed Chimera on administrative leave last week after learning of the criminal investigation, and he is no longer an employee of the CSB. He was released on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court January 29th.
