Alzheimer’s researchers making progress

Medical researchers continue to make strides in studying Alzheimer’s disease and ways to slow, or even stop, it.

Researchers at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of California San Francisco have found genetic links between cardiovascular disorders and Alzheimer’s disease. They think it may be possible to repurpose heart disease drugs to attack Alzheimer’s.

At the same time, researchers at Yale University have found ways to study synaptic loss in living humans, giving hope to potential measures to reverse cognitive decline. Phillip Conners has more in this video report.
