Fairfax County police say a body found Sunday in Centreville has tentatively been identified as 61-year-old Brian Murphy of Alexandria.

Relatives of Murphy reported him missing last Wednesday after he failed to attend church or report to his job in Fairfax County for three days.

A county search and rescue team found a body in some woods near Little Rocky Run around 9 a.m. Sunday. They say it appears to be Murphy’s. Though a missing person alert that Fairfax County police issued Saturday classified Murphy as possibly “endangered,” detectives say the body shows no signs of foul play.
