The prime-time debate between Tim Kaine and Corey Stewart quickly turned into an exchange of barbs last night. It was the second in a series of three statewide debates between Kaine, the Democratic incumbent Senator, and his Republican challenger.

Stewart repeated his claim that that sexual assault claims against Supreme Court nominee Bret Kavanaugh are “a bunch of crap” and implied that Kaine himself had been accused of sexual improprieties.

Stewart noted there had been 268 sexual abuse allegations against “you and others” in Congress.

“You just tried to slip in that there were complaints against me, and that is completely false,” Kaine said. [Washington Post]
