One teen-aged boy was killed and four were injured Friday morning in what Fairfax County Police say was a high-speed accident involving an unlicensed driver.

The accident happened shortly before noon Friday on Furnace Road near Lorton Road and Dairy Road in Lorton. Investigators say a Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on Furnace Road when the car left the roadway, struck a tree and flipped.

A 15-year-old passenger in the car was killed. The four survivors were taken to area hospitals by helicopter and ambulance. Two were treated and released and two were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Earlier police reports incorrectly said the driver of the car had been killed.

Identities of the victims were not released because of state laws that prohibit releasing minors’ names. Police said charges may be filed against the driver when their investigation is complete.
