Teen dies in Springfield crash

A 19-year-old Fairfax man died Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Springfield.

The collision happened at Fairfax County Parkway and Whitlers Creek Drive. According to Fairfax County police, Francis Kyung-Min Park was driving northbound on the parkway when he lost control of his car for an unknown reason. The car slid sideways across the median and crashed into a box truck that was traveling in the southbound lanes. Park was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt.

Detectives are working to determine if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
