Fairfax County crash reconstruction detectives continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian accident Sunday night in Centreville.

It happened a little before 11:00 p.m. when a man, who lives in Centreville, tried to cross Lee Highway at Stone Road. Police say he was struck by a 2001 Ford Mustang which was traveling southbound on Lee Highway and had the right-of-way. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Detectives say that, for now, it does not appear that speed was a factor, but alcohol may have been a factor for the pedestrian. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified.
