Traffic was backed up for more than four miles this morning after a fatal two-vehicle crash on westbound I-66 at the Rt. 123 exit in Oakton. Virginia State Police said a Falls Church woman was killed in the accident, which occurred shortly before 4 a.m.

Police said Lesly R. Coronado, 26, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic and was traveling west when she was rear-ended by a westbound 2015 Hyundai Elantra. Coronado died at the scene. Investigators said she was not wearing a seat belt.

A 29-year-old Manassas woman was driving the Hyundai. She was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt. Her identity was not released.

Charges are pending, according to state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller. The Virginia State Police Fairfax Division Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.

I-66 became a construction zone once again over the weekend as crews began installing temporary lane markers, barriers and cones to make room for what will eventually be toll lanes in the middle of the chronically congested highway.
