Fairfax police suspect murder after body is found in Fairfax Station – UPDATED

UPDATED: Wednesday, 9:00 p.m.

Fairfax County detectives have identified the homicide victim found in the 6500 block of Colchester Road Wednesday morning as 30-year-old Michael Cooker, of Herndon.  Cooker sustained upper body trauma. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.


Details are sketchy about an apparent murder in Fairfax Station.

Fairfax County police say a passerby found the body of a man a little before 7:00 a.m. Wednesday on the side of the road in the 6500 block of Colchester Road. Detectives say the victim had serious injuries to his upper body. No weapons were found at the scene.
