Body found in Alexandria park

UPDATE:  Body is tentatively identified as missing teen. Details

Fairfax County detectives are investigating a body found Friday afternoon in Woodland Park.

Police say the body was almost entirely covered by leaves and brush and was found in some woods just off a path. They haven’t released any further details, but the Fairfax County police news release notes that a recent state law prohibits releasing information about a juvenile crime victim unless the parents agree.

The body isn’t expected to be identified until Saturday, at the earliest.
