Fairfax County detectives have released a sketch of a man who tried to sexually assault a woman in Reston Monday afternoon.

Police describe the suspect as 20-30 years old with a stocky build. He may have been driving a grey or silver car with license plate number that begins with the letter “V.”

suspect sketchThe assault happened around 2:30 pm as the 22-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of North Shore Drive. Police say a man came up behind her and dragged her into the woods. Once there the suspect tried to remove the woman’s clothing but something apparently scared him away before he could go further.
