A suspect has been arrested for a sexual assault that took place in Reston two weeks ago.

33-year-old Dominique Ashley Childs, of Reston, was arrested in Manassas Monday. Fairfax County detectives say a tip led them to Childs. He’s been charged with abduction with intent to defile and is being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

The attack happened the afternoon of August 14 as the 22-year-old victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of North Shore Drive. Police say a man came up behind her and dragged her into the woods. Once there the suspect tried to remove the woman’s clothing but something apparently scared him away before he could go further.

About a day after the assault detectives released an artist’s sketch of a suspect.
