Suspicious death in Burke

The death of a woman in Burke early Tuesday morning is being called “suspicious” by Fairfax County police.

Detectives say the body of 64-year-old Fathia Choukri was found around 5:30 a.m. in her home in the 9100 block of Bloom Court. A family member called police after finding the woman unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say their investigation has turned up what they’re calling “suspicious circumstances.” They’re waiting for an autopsy, expected to be done Wednesday, to determine how Choukri died.
