Man dies in morning rush-hour Fairfax Parkway crash

One man is dead, two others were hurt in a two-vehicle crash that closed a section of the Fairfax County Parkway Friday morning.

It happened a little before 7:00 a.m. near Braddock Road. A Honda Civic was traveling north on the parkway when it crossed the median and collided with a Volkswagen Passet.

Three people were taken to the hospital.  One was flown and two went by ambulance. 20-year old Sayed Osman Sayed, of Springfield, died of his injuries. A stretch of Fairfax County Parkway was closed in both directions for a period of time.

Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives are investigating to determine what caused the crash and whether speed was a factor. Fairfax County police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
