Fire destroys Lorton townhouse

FCFD command post

Investigators are looking for the cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed a townhouse in Lorton early Friday.

The blaze broke out shortly before 2:00 a.m. in at the home in the 8500 block of Koluder Court. The first fire units to arrive found fire on all floors of the three-story townhouse. Though the fire gutted the home firefighters were able to keep it from spreading to the townhouses on either side, except for a small extension into one adjacent attic.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt. The fire was discovered and reported by a neighbor. Damages to that townhouse are reported as approximately $219,400.
