A 23-year-old woman in Reston is probably very thankful that it wasn’t worse.

A bullet was fired into her apartment in the 1500 block of Cameron Crescent Drive shortly before noon on Sunday. No one was hurt. Police say the shot came from an adjacent apartment where three juveniles admitted to handling a firearm. Police are still deciding whether to charge anyone with a crime.

A man in Oakton wasn’t as lucky

A 36-year-old man was slightly hurt when his pistol accidentally discharged Saturday evening while he was handling it.  It happened in the 10300 block of Emerald Rock Drive.  The man was taken to the hospital with an injury described as non-life threatening.  Fairfax County police say charges are pending.
