Fairfax County Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in McLean that left two people injured.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division said the shooting occurred about 4 a.m. yesterday (Sunday) on Dolley Madison Boulevard near the intersection with Kirby Road.

Investigators say the incident apparently grew out of an altercation at a party in Arlington earlier that night. One group left the party in a vehicle and when they reached Dolley Madison Boulevard and Kirby Road, another vehicle pulled alongside and fired several shots, striking two occupants in the first vehicle. The unidentified suspect vehicle then fled the scene.

Little is known about the two victims at this point, other than they drove themselves to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There is no suspect or vehicle description at this time.

As detectives investigate this crime, they are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident call the Fairfax County Police Department at 703-691-2131. Callers may also contact Crime Solvers by calling 1-866-411-8477, via email at Fairfaxcountycrimesolvers.org, or text “Tip187” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
