One person was injured in a house fire in Dale City early Thursday, Prince William Fire Dept. officials said.

The fire was reported at 2:23 a.m. in a single-family home located in the 6000 block of Plainville Lane in Dale City.

The first-arriving units observed heavy smoke billowing from the front door. Upon entering a second floor bedroom, firefighters discovered occupants fighting the fire with a garden hose.  Firefighters evacuated the occupants and suppressed the fire containing it to the bedroom.
One occupant was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the displaced residents as a result of the fire.
