Information sought in school vandalisms

090113schooldamage2Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for vandalizing two county schools the weekend before school started.

The first incident occurred at Herndon High School, located at 700 Bennett Street in Herndon. Around 11:48 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, police were called to the school for graffiti found on the athletic fields. Derogatory words and pictures were spray-painted on the field, buildings and equipment.

The second incident was reported to police on Saturday, August 31 around 8:08 a.m. at South lakes High School, located at 11400 South Lakes Drive in Reston. During the overnight hours the athletic fields were spray-painted with derogatory words and pictures, damaging the fields and equipment.

Damage is estimated to be more than $1,000 at each school.
