Homes are selling faster in Northern Virginia than in most of the country, but sometimes it takes a little boost to get things rolling.
That’s the theory, anyway, behind an unsuual offer by the owner of a three-bedroom, two and a half bath, ranch-style estate home in Dalmore community of Midlothian, Va., listed with Long & Foster’s Susan Stynes.
The property owner is offering to award a brand new 2012 C Class Mercedes-Benz to the real estate agent who sells the property, which is located on nearly 11 acres of land and is being offered for $1.9 million.
â€œI have worked with other motivated sellers who have offered something extra to prospective buyers such as a boat or jet skis. At the listing presentation, I had suggested a more unique incentive like a trip to the wine country or a Broadway show, when the seller suggested the Mercedes. It blew me away. I’ve never had a seller offer something like this to the selling agent,â€ said Stynes.
According to Stynes, the Mercedes-Benz being offered is worth $37,900, however, if the selling agent isnâ€™t interested in the car, the seller will instead pay a bonus of $30,000. To date, the story of the house and the Benz has been picked up by local television outlets and print media, as well as internet media sites such as The Huffington Post and USNews.com.
Built in 2002, the custom-built home features a foyer entrance accented by an inlaid custom marble floor mural and regal crown moldings. The foyer leads to a living area that includes a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen with custom cherry cabinetry, top-grade granite counters, professional appliances and imported Italian tile.
