After a brief respite for the Columbus Day holiday, Beltway lane closures resume this week as work continues on the Dulles Metrorail and I-495 HOT Lane projects.

Dulles Corridor Rail crews are scheduled to resume bridge construction over I-495 Wednesday through Friday nights this week. Three right lanes of southbound I-495 will close from Old Dominion Drive to Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Thursday, Oct. 13, and from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. One lane will be open to through traffic.

In addition, the ramp from southbound Route 123 to southbound I-495 will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on those nights. To access southbound I-495, traffic will be directed to continue on southbound Route 123, turn right on International Drive, right on Galleria Drive right on Tysons Boulevard, then take a left onto Route 123 and continue on to the ramp to southbound I-495.

Police will be onsite for motorist safety. For the remainder of the year, motorists on the Beltway will continue to experience multiple lane closures in either direction at the Route 123 interchange. For a complete listing of lane closures, click here.
