Officials say a 16-year-old Springfield area male has been arrested in connection with the abduction and assault of a five-year-old girl from her townhouse in the 7000 block of Brocton Court on Saturday, August 27.
Officials say the youth has been charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with the intent to defile, aggravated malicious wounding and object sexual penetration. He is being held on a detention order at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
The 16-year-old had been previously arrested on August 31 for a burglary committed on August 24 in the 5800 block of Accomac Street.
During the preliminary investigation, officers and detectives determined that the suspect forced entry into the home, went upstairs and took the five-year-old girl from her bed. The victimâ€™s parents were alerted to the crime when the little girl made her way back to the home.
According to initial information, the victim was taken to a nearby location sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. There are indications that she sustained trauma to the upper body before being released by the suspect. She was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries
