Weekly Lane/Road Closure Schedule

    LEESBURG PIKE (Route 7) On Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and again on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., the right ramp lane from Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east and west onto I-495 south will be closed for sound wall work. The ramp lane closure will extend onto I-495 south just past the Route 7 merge. 

DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT
Nighttime work – Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted. 

  • I-495 north at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Rt. 7) to Exit 46, Chain Bridge Road (Rt. 123) – Three lanes closed Thursday – Saturday for cantilever construction. 
  • I-495 south between old Dominion Drive and Exit 46, Chain Bridge Road, (Rt. 123) – Three lanes closed Sunday – Friday, and Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday, for Cantilever construction.
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at Gosnell Rd. – Left turn lane closed Sunday – Friday nights for pier work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at International Dr. – Two left lanes closed Sunday night for tunnel work. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at Tyco Rd. – Right lane closed Monday – Thursday nights for utility work. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west between Westpark Dr. and Spring Hill Rd. – Multiple lane closures Monday – Saturday nights for utility work. Traffic will be detoured to make a U-turn at Tyco Rd., then make a right onto Spring Hill Rd south. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Westpark Dr. – Two left turn lanes closed Sunday – Friday nights for pier work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs.
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) – left lane closed Monday – Thursday nights for utility work. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Spring Hill Rd. – Two left turn lanes closed Sunday – Tuesday nights. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east from Westpark Dr. to Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) – Two left lanes closed Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights for tunnel work. 
  • Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north at Tysons Blvd. – Left Turn lane closed 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday and Monday nights for pier work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south at Tysons Blvd. – Two right turn lanes closed Sunday and Monday nights for Cantilever construction. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north at Capital One Dr. – Two left turn lanes closed – Tuesday – Friday nights for bridge span work.
  • Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north at Scotts Crossing Rd. – Left turn lane closed – Tuesday – Thursday nights for barrier installation. Police will be on scene for motorist safety.
  • Westpark Dr. west at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) – Road closed Sunday – Thursday nights for pier work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Westpark Dr. east at Jones Branch Dr. to Galleria Dr. west – Three left turn lanes closed Monday – Saturday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Gosnell Rd. north at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) – Road closed – Sunday – Friday nights for pier work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs.
  • Tysons Blvd. east at Galleria Dr. – Through lanes closed Monday – Saturday nights for bridge work. 
  • Galleria Dr. east at Tysons Blvd. – Right turn lane closed Tuesday – Friday nights for bridge work. 
  • Magarity Rd. north at Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) – Left turn lane closed Monday – Saturday nights. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Magarity Rd. north at Dulles Connector Road (Rt. 267) – Road closed for girder painting. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs.
  • Great Falls Street north and south at Magarity Rd. – Left turn lane closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for girder painting.
  • Hunter Mill Rd. north and south closed at Dulles Toll Road – Road closed Monday and Tuesday nights for girder painting. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs. 
  • Great Falls St. north at Magarity Rd. north and south – Road closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for girder painting. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs.

  • Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and south at I-495 – Two lanes closed Monday – Friday nights for overhang work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
  • Westpark Dr. overpass east and west at Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) – Road closed Monday – Friday nights for signal work. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs using the Tysons Corner Center Ring Road.

  • I-495 south to Exit 49, I-66 west – Ramp closed Monday – Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 49 A or C, I-66 west right or left exit.
  • I-66 west from Exit 66, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to I-495 – Single lane closed Monday – Saturday nights for traffic shift and overhead sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
  • I-66 east from Cedar Lane overpass to Gallows Rd. overpass – Two lanes closed Monday – Saturday nights for overhead sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
  • I-66 east general purpose (right exit) to I-495 south – Ramp closed Monday – Saturday nights for overhead sign work. Traffic will be directed to use the HOV (left exit) to I-495 south
  • I-66 east HOV (left exit) to I-495 south – Ramps closed Monday-Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to use the general purpose (right exit) to I-495 south. 
  • I-495 north and south from Lee Hwy. (Route 29) overpass to near Exit 49, I-66 – Three lanes closed Monday – Saturday  nights for bridge work, traffic shift, and utility work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
  • I-495 north at Exit 50, Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) – Road closed Friday and Saturday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to use the collector distributor road. 
  • Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west at I-495 south – Ramp closed Monday – Friday nights for overhead light installation. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Gallows Rd. (Route 650) south and follow signs to I-495 south. 
  • Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) east at I-495 south – Two left lanes closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for overhead sign installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
  • Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west and Fairview Park Drive to I-495 north – Ramp closed Monday – Saturday nights for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Gallows Rd. (Route 650) south and follow signs to I-495 north. 
  • I-495 north at Exit 51, Gallows Rd. (Route 650) – Three right lanes closed Monday – Friday nights for paving. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight. 
  • I-495 south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east – Ramp closed all weekend from 9 p.m. Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday morning for ramp work. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 54B, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east. 
  • I-495 south at Exit 52, Little River Tpk. (Route 236)  – Two left lanes closed Thursday and Friday nights for overhead sign installation. 
  • Little River Tpk. (Route 236) west to I-495 south – Ramp closed all weekend from 9 p.m. Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday morning for ramp work. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north to Exit 51, Gallows Rd. (Route 650) north, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 south. 
  • I-495 north/west (Inner Loop) at I-395 – Road closed Sunday – Saturday nights for bridge deck work. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 170, I-395 north to Exit 2, Edsall Rd. west, stay to the right, follow signs to I-395 south and then signs to I-495 Inner Loop. 
  • I-495 north/west (Inner Loop) to I-395 north – Ramp closed Sunday – Saturday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue on I-495 north, take Exit 54A, Braddock Road (Route 620) west, follow the signage to I-495 south to Exit 57, I-395 north
  • I-395 north at I-495 – Two lanes closed Sunday – Saturday nights for overhang removal. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
  • I-395 reversible HOV lanes at I-495 – Road closed Tuesday – Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to use the general purpose lanes of I-395.

  • Expect single lane closures on the Inner and Outer Loops of I-495 from Springfield Interchange to beyond the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) within the project area.

I-95 WIDENING

  • I-95 south from Exit 166, Fairfax County Parkway (Rt 7100), to Pohick Road overpass – Two right lanes closed Monday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of pavement markers and minor asphalt repairs.
  • I-95 at Exit 161, Richmond Hwy. (Rt. 1) – Three lanes closed Monday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling, paving and striping work. Motorists should expect total temporary closures for up to 20 minutes each after midnight.

  • I-95 north between Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) to Pohick Road overpass – Right lane closed Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for final punch list work.
  • I-95 south between Accotink Creek to Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) – Right lane closed Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for final punch list work.
  • I-95 reversible HOV lanes from Pohick Rd. overpass to Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) – Single lane closed Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for overhead sign punch list work.
  • Furnace Rd. (Route 611) east or west at I-95 – Road closed, flagger to direct traffic – Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge work.
