County Students Receive Honors At FBLA National Conference

Seven Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) students earned honors during the competitive events program at the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) National Leadership Conference held in Orlando this summer.

  • Alberto Pardo of Westfield High School earned a sixth place finish in Introduction to Technology Concepts.
  • Tianyuan Hou of Oakton High School earned a seventh place finish in Personal Finance.
  • Jackie Phong of Edison Academy and Stuart High School competed in Database Design and Application and received an eighth place award.
  • The team of Arisa Koyama, Anoop Sandho, and Mrinmayed Takle of Westfield High School earned an eighth place finish in Global Business.
  • Imren Johar of Oakton High School competed in Business Math and earned a ninth place award.

The awards are part of a competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL featuring nearly 60 different events — representing a wide range of activities and business and leadership development — in which students could participate.
