Temporary Dolley Madison Library To Close In May

Dolley Madison Library will close its temporary location at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Library staff will move the collection to the newly renovated building and begin preparing the branch to open to the public in July.

Dolley Madison Library has been located at 6649-A Old Dominion Drive, McLean, during the renovation. The branch will reopen Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m. after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its original site, 1244 Oak Ridge Ave., McLean.

“We will miss our great neighbors at McLean Square, but the staff is excited about returning to Oak Ridge Avenue and welcoming the community to our beautiful renovated library,” said Starr Smith, branch manager.

Customers who regularly use Dolley Madison Library will need to use another Fairfax County Public Library branch between May 22 and July 9.

Holds can be suspended or changed to a different branch. The book drop at Dolley Madison Library will not be available between May 22 and July 9. Due dates for Dolley Madison customers will be adjusted to address the closing.
