Four County Students Win Virginia PTA Reflections Awards

Four Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) students won first place awards at the state level in the 2010-11 Reflections contest, sponsored by the National PTA. Winning first place Outstanding Interpretation awards were:

  • Kayla Delardi of Rose Hill Elementary School in Dance Choreography, Middle-Junior Division.
  • Avery Dahl of Kent Gardens Elementary School in Photography, Intermediate Division.
  • Amy Ahn of Lanier Middle School in Visual Arts, Middle-Junior Division.
  • Ivy Ni of Langley High School in Visual Arts, Senior Division.

The following students also earned recognition at the state level:

  • Jessica Huneke of Chantilly High School, Award of Excellence in Photography, Senior Division;
  • Vijay Rudraraju of Oak Hill Elementary School, Award of Excellence in Film Production, Intermediate Division;
  • Kyle Gatesman of Canterbury Woods Elementary School, Award of Merit for Musical Composition, Intermediate Division;
  • Emmie Dohse of Centreville High School, Award of Merit in Musical Composition, Senior Division;
  • Aimee Cho of Langley High School, Award of Merit in Dance Choreography, Senior Division;
  • Oscar Platt of Laurel Ridge Elementary School, Award of Merit in Visual Arts, Primary Division; and
  • Johnathan Breaux of Oak View Elementary School, Award of Merit in Film Production, Primary Division.
