Pit Bull Stabbed in Mount Vernon
Police and Animal Control officers are investigating the stabbing of Cane, a 15-month-old white Pit Bull.
Animal Control officers said they were called to pick up a dog on Friday, June 29 in the 3500 block of Rolling Hills Avenue at approximately 9 a.m. Cane was found with injuries to the left side of his neck. A veterinarian determined the injuries were consistent with a stab wound.
Officers are now searching for who may have stabbed Cane.
Unable to pay the treatment costs, the owner turned Cane over to the shelter. Costs will be defrayed by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
